Tyler took a moment to admire the completed suit in a full-length mirror. Looking over to the robot plush on his bed he said “Mom would’ve don’t you think.”
He heard his sister turn on her comm and say “Suit’s readouts are normal and holding a steady charge. Does it feel comfortable?”
“On the whole, lighter than you’d expect. Getting out of here to start my rounds.” He said and headed out his window.
After an hour he was taking a moment to relax by sitting on top of the stone arches of the Brooklyn Bridge by the Financial District. As he stood up Serene said “Sir, there was a break-in at a bank not far from you. Immediate security camera coverage suggests it was a single person using explosives.”
Tyler was already on his way there as he asked “Is anyone still inside the bank?”
“Shouldn’t be too many, just janitorial is typically staffed around this hour.” Susie said.
He found the bank and the hole used to enter the building. He turned invisible and entered through the hole. He found himself in offices but quickly heard voices talking and followed them. He followed the voices to a bank vault and saw someone pointing a hand NRG blaster at a woman in a business suit and a man dressed for cleaning.
“Faster, and no tricks.” The person holding the blaster said. They were clearly a man and sounded familiar.
It was at this point that Tyler made himself visible and commanded “Stop right there and put down the blaster.”
The woman stopped what she was doing and the man held his hands up, still holding the blaster. In a moment he turned around and fired at him; Tyler dodged and fired at the man. He shrugged off the blast like it didn’t even hit him and continued to fire at him. Tyer was only able to barely dodge most of the shots but a couple handed squarely on his chest. The blasts also hit with more power than he expected but the new suit held up. He kicked out a nearby table and used it as a cover.
The blaster fire stopped and the table was, suddenly, smashed in half. Tyler took the moment to knock the blaster out of his hand and punch him in the chest. The problem was, the man only moved a few inches and it felt like he punched solid metal. Tyler quickly followed up with a sweep to his opponent’s legs and he fell with a loud thud. He heard more people enter the bank, presumably the police, but he took his eyes off the man. It was at that moment, Tyler was kicked in the chest and sent flying through the wall and landing in the lobby.
He heard an explosion as he got back to his feet. Running back into the other room, the vault door was open and a hole that led outside. It took enough time to gather all that for the police to enter the room. All Tyler did was say “Evening officers. While I would love to stay and explain what happened here, I think the two witnesses would do a much better job of that.”
He turned invisible as a cop started saying something and dashed through the hole the man-made. Susie was typing away when she said “I followed that guy to a getaway car but it got completely lost in a sudden burst of traffic. However, he did have a rather large bag of money in hand.”
