About me

Hello there, my name is Jacob Morgan; a recent Penn State graduate with a communications degree.  While The Mirage is new to you he is not new to me.  For more than a decade I've been cultivating the ideas I put on the page here.  Like all projects worth doing, I've spent the time getting the details right and the correct information.  The Mirage has changed names a few times and gone through a great number of rewrites.  Here he is now, ready to defend New York City from anything that comes it's way.

Meet the Characters - Jenifer Williams

Today I'm here to introduce Jenifer Williams.  She's a senior in high school who has known Tyler since they were eleven.  A very outgoing person; she's on the school track team and partakes in different student committees and clubs.  She always tries to make time for friends in her busy schedule of activities and family matters.  Her main interest, outside of sports, is music and music production.  Unsure of what she'll do after school she knows it wil have to do with music.

After the Fall

The top of the Empire State Building, Tyler’s favorite spot; somewhere he’s been a lot in the past week.  It was his best distraction since his mother died; one of the only spots nobody could bother him and just let him think.  If he was honest with himself, or if others thought they could be, he wasn’t really dealing with it well.  However, people did what they naturally did and gave him a wide emotional berth; as well as Tyler not giving too much time for introspection.  He and Susie could tell people were watching their words and being overly polite.  The top of the Empire State Building felt like the only place he wouldn’t have to worry about all that. One problem with that is it wasn’t strictly true.  Convergence Industries CEO, Tyler’s grandfather, suggested a grief consoler for the family.  Tyler and Susie had time off from school to deal with their emotions, but they both knew what would happen when they went back.  The Lab had become a cr...

The Iron Man

Tyler and Brenda were in a subway car making sure that they delivered all the paperwork they were supposed to.   It was one of the rare times they were doing something that was more in line with their official title as interns in The Lab.   They were also selected because they were handing over highly important contracts with other businesses around the city; a task Mr. Smith trusted them with instead of the normal means.   The problem was that they were running late for a meeting back at The Lab. Tyler texted Jennifer about their date later that night when he thought he saw something at the back of the subway car.  Interestingly, he noticed Brenda saw something too.  Raising an eyebrow, he asked “You notice something as well?” She looked at him a little too quickly and said “Thought I saw something.  Probably just my imagination.” “Yeah, maybe.  I just hope we’re not too late for that meeting with Lunar Technologies.” Tyler said and notic...
