Welcome to the Adventure

Hello to all who read this. I welcome you to the adventure that’s about to begin here. The Adventures of The Mirage will be a short story series centered around a young man who thinks he can do more to help his community. The central character is Tyler Smith; he helps protect his community under the alias The Mirage. Outfitted in a fully protected helmet and enhanced running gear, as well as other pieces of tech, he protects New York City as best he can. He isn't alone in this endeavor having help from his sister Susie; codenamed Soothsayer, she acts as the eyes and ears of the operation. Also assisting them is a computer a.i. known as Serene.

My goal with this blog is to provide stories that entertain and, more importantly, make you want to come back for more. The Mirage is a character I have long had ideas for but never knew what avenue to best use him in. This, I feel, is the best place to put him out into the world. There’s a little more work to do before I can fully show him off. Before I post the first story here I'll have some posts showing off some of the characters that you're going to meet through the course of this series. For now, I hope you stick around for more updates.

Meet the Characters - Jenifer Williams

Today I'm here to introduce Jenifer Williams. She's a senior in high school who has known Tyler since they were eleven. A very outgoing person; she's on the school track team and partakes in different student committees and clubs. She always tries to make time for friends in her busy schedule of activities and family matters. Her main interest, outside of sports, is music and music production. Unsure of what she'll do after school she knows it wil have to do with music.

File - The Agent

Brenda was in a room with several other Order agents; most just waiting to hit the streets. A lot of the people around her were people unhappy with the way things were or wanted to come out on top when this was all set and done. Looking around the room, this was one of the few spaces where agents were expected to not wear their protective gear; a way to see if they were paying attention. There were some faces she recognized from school, a few from local businesses, while she didn’t care to know most. It wasn’t her place to know who they were, just that they paid attention to Caption Sigma. Caption Sigma was a thin man with the voice of a foghorn, a useful skill here and in his day job. He had his red hair cut military short and sharp eyes that scanned the small crowd. Brenda didn’t actually need to stand next to him, but that was protocol. The Cleanup Crew

Tyler was staking out the second to last warehouse The Order was using. Since his last encounter with The Order he took a look at a second warehouse location; finding it already cleared out. This place was, however, teaming with activity; people were moving about the place like they would have to leave at a moment’s notice. It was in the northern Bronx and operated, by day, as a warehouse for one of Convergence Industries' competitors. Watching the people move items around Tyler said “We can’t say they don’t know how to mobilize.” “Yeah, I know what you mean; makes me wonder how big a group they truly are. I think we’ve gathered enough material to pass this onto state police or someone just as qualified.” Susie said in his ear. “We need to know more before I feel comfortable doing that.
